The next city we visited was called Nanjing.  We were not as lucky as Beijing when it came to the weather.  The day we landed, it was raining and with tours, you keep going.  So we went to visit a memorial in the rain.  Got myself soaking wet.  Before the trip, I bought a pair of waterproof shoes.  I wore it a few times to work to try it out and decided that it was not as comfortable so I took a different pair of shoes with me.  Well, bad idea for Nanjing.  By the end of the day, my shoes, socks, and jeans were soaking wet.  I also bought the same pair of shoes for my mother.  She decided to bring it and wear it so she didn't get too wet.  With the rest of the trip, we were only staying at each hotel for one night so I couldn't have the hotel wash my shoes or jeans.  I ended up having to blow dry my shoes and jeans for 2 hours.  What fun that was!

The places we visited on Day 1 was the Memorial of Sun Yat-Sen, a Chinese wax museum with a graveyard of over 10,000 soldiers from World War II.  From what the tour guide stated, Nanjing was a place where the Japanese tortured a lot of Chinese people so you will not find any Japanese cars around.  I actually tried looking around for a Japanese car and was not very successful at finding one. At night, we went to a Confucian temple..
